What difference between Perovskite and thin film solar cell (CIGS)?

The most popular thin film solar cell is CIGS solar cell, in which the CIGS has a chalcopyrite crystal structure. Perovskite solar cell, as known in its name, has a pervskite crystal structure. Furthermore, CIGS is a pure inorganic materials. However, the state-of-the-art Perovskite materials used in solar cell is orgnaic-inorganic material. In principle, the pervoskite material has similar properties with CIGS material, such as broad absorption, high extinction coefficient and satisfying hole/electron mobility. Except solution processed preparation, Using the same CIGS preparation technique, Evaporation, to prepare perovskite material can also show outstanding performance in solar cells.
